Have no fear

Our species has been endowed with a range of emotions and feelings that add depth to our lives. One of these is fear. Unlike the majority of emotions and feelings, fear serves the primary purpose of keeping us alive. It alerts us to potential dangers thus triggering a fight, flight, or freeze response. It is probably one of the earliest emotions that evolved. There is a legitimacy to recognizing and responding to fear. Think of other emotions such as joy and envy. Their presence is not threatening to our well-being. It is important to acknowledge the fear that accompanies a physical danger. What can paralyze us is the fear that is not indicative of such a danger. This is the fear that s created in our minds based on what could occur in the future. This includes a fear of heights related to potentially falling or a fear of snakes that you could be bitten. Just the thought of this can trigger a physical response similar to what occurs with encountering real heights and snakes. Such fears can limit our experience. They are most likely based in observing someone reacting to heights or snakes. They can be unlearned to open you to a fuller life. What is a fear that you have that interferes with a fuller life?
