I don't think so
I attended a professional presentation in which the speaker lectured on the conscious and the unconscious. During the course of his talk I realized that we had very different thoughts on the topic. I could tell that he had spent considerable time researching the content of his talk. At the end of the two and a half hours I had a much better idea as to how he viewed the world. It was much different than my view. Yet I could not judge that his view was wrong. He was sharing his beliefs about how he saw life and who was I to question that? When I commented on what I had heard, it was clear that his belief system was strong for him. I shared with another attendee that there are seven billion points of view on the planet and this is simply one of them. My way of thinking may not be well received by many who walk this earth and my job is not to convince them that mine is the only way to think. We view the world through the filter of our thoughts and beliefs and create a world that reflects them. This is the freedom of being human. While we most likely seek out others who share similar belief systems, it is good to know that diversity of thought abounds. It allows us to be open to new thoughts that we may incorporate into what works for us. How do you see the thoughts and beliefs of those around you coinciding with your own?
