Willingness

When it comes to making a change in your life, there is a definite difference in the desire to make a change as opposed to the willingness to make a change. While both aspects of change are based on a perceived need to alter what is currently happening in your life, the desire draws from an awareness that what you are doing is no working Willingness takes that a step further, It requires a commitment on your part to identify the ways in which your current situation is affecting your life and then decide that you have to take action to address it. For example, you may be working in a job that you find to be unfulfilling. You are aware that this is the case and desire to move on to something that better suits you. Most likely this may be where the desire ends. Your willingness to change jobs, however, takes form in developing a plan to make the needed changes. While neither desire nor willingness demonstrates an actual outcome, your willingness takes you one step closer to what you want. Another way to look at this is that change begins with desire followed by willingness followed by action followed by outcome. Think about a desire you had in the past and what the outcome was based on that desire. How did your willingness to change contribute to the outcome?
