A change of seasons
we are marking the beginning of the winter or summer season depending on where you live on the planet. For those of you in the northern hemisphere it will be the shortest amount of sunlight for the year, while those in the southern hemisphere will experience the most amount of daylight. Each is a reminder of how our planet adapts to the tilt on its axis and its position in relationship to the sun. We have learned to expect this phenomenon known as the solstices to occur at approximately the same time each year just as it has done for millions of years in the past. The cold of winter yields to new birth in the spring. Our own lives are marked by seasons of their own. We can liken spring to our youth, summer to our early adulthood, autumn or fall to or late adulthood, and winter to our final years. My own life is approaching winter. With it comes an opportunity to consider what I want that to look like. For now my plan is to continue to work and travel. Both of these bring me joy and fulfillment. While I would prefer a short winter, that is not entirely in my hands. Knowing that, I have the choice to live each day accordingly. Where are you in the seasons of your years and what are you doing to enjoy this time to the fullest?
