A do nothing day
When was the last time you made a decision to spend the entire day focused on yourself? You wake up when you feel like it. You stay in your pajamas and lie in bed watching your favorite movies. You take naps throughout the day. If you are in a relationship, you an do this together or create your own plan of what this day would be like. If you have a family, you can choose a weekend day and do the same. Perhaps it involves a trip to an amusement park or a hike in the woods. Choose activities that feed your spirit. It is your way of celebrating the fact that you are a human being, not a human doing. A day such as this can serve to reenergize you. It is a break from your daily routine. The only rule is that you consciously refrain from dwelling on what you 'should' be doing. Listen to the talk in your head as a way of monitoring your day off. Any self talk of wasting time can be dismissed by reminding its source that this is your day, not theirs. At the end of the day check in with yourself to see how you feel. I still talk about my do nothing days with positive thoughts and feelings.
