Going barefoot

Date:
March 8, 2018

When was the last time you took off your shoes and socks and walked through the cool green grass or the wet sand of the beach? How did you feel after you did this? There are some who believe that this is a way of grounding us which allows us to absorb the earth's natural electromagnetic energy. The results for our health are that we have better blood flow, sleep better, and experience reduced stress levels. Have you ever observed children playing barefoot? They seem to have an instinctive knowing of the benefits that this provides. I know how much I enjoy strolling barefoot along the beach in Maui. I feel more connected and alive when I do this. Sometimes I think that shoes and socks act as insulators that prevent the earth's energy from feeding my physical body. While we definitely need shoes and socks to protect our feet from sharp objects and cold weather, it is important to find time to go barefoot and take in earth's healthy energy. You may not live near a sandy beach, but you can always find a spot that offers green grass or warm soil to nurture your being. What can you do today to go barefoot and take advantage of this free gift from our planet?
