How you look at it

How you judge the effect of an occurrence in your life is based on how you look at it. The same event can prompt at least two very different responses. There are countless stories of people whose lives took a dramatic turn based on a delay in traffic or missing a bus. At that moment what was likely interpreted as an inconvenience or annoyance opened the door to a new experience. Think of the stories of those who were supposed to be in the World Trade Center on 9/11 and were out of the buildings that fateful morning because they were attending to other tasks. That is a much more dramatic take on the twists and turns our lives make and yet our own lives are filled with such events. For me it has been about a job opportunity that I thought would be perfect and didn't transpire. Sometimes it took several years to realize that, had I taken that job, I wouldn't be doing what I am today. As you plan your day, allow for it to be open at the top. You can view unexpected events as a source of potential growth or a nuisance. It's all in how you look at it. How open are you today to what may show up unexpectedly?
