Just my luck
Good luck, bad luck, no luck at all. We tend to see luck as a force occurring outside of ourselves based largely on chance or accident. You are walking down the street and find a twenty dollar bill on the sidewalk. You miss your connecting flight by five minutes. Nothing that you perceive as good ever seems to come your way. Yet each of these outcomes may be affected by other circumstances. They may be a function of synchronicity which Carl Jung saw as meaningful coincidences. They may be simply a single occurrence out of numerous possibilities. Perhaps luck is the result of a belief in a destiny that plays itself out on a daily basis. The events of life are a constant. Perhaps luck is no more than an awareness of the unexpected events that show up through our day. They make life interesting because they appear to be out of our control. What we can control is our response to them. Accept that there will always be unpredictable events in your life and that you can integrate them as part of your life experience. They will be what you believe them to be - chance, probability, destiny. When did luck last show up in your life and what did it mean for you?
