Making amends
It is part of our human nature to make mistakes. In many cases these mistakes affect other people. We may say or do things that are hurtful whether or not they are intentional. They often come from our own insecurities and hurts. As we grow in our understanding of how our words and actions can be harmful to those around us, we realize that it is important to acknowledge our part in this. In some cases it means speaking directly to the person and making an apology. Other times it means behaving differently in a manner that is more respectful of others. There may be times when making a silent amends is sufficient, especially when the words we speak can do more harm than good. Go within and ask what it is that needs to be done to make things right so that you have a healthier relationship with people. Should you do or say something that you realize is hurtful, make amends immediately. It will be appreciated. What have you done or said in your past that you need to clear the air about and how would you proceed to have that happen?
