Making up for lost time
As much as we would like it to be different, there are only 24 hours in a day in clock time. What you do with those 24 hours is totally up to you. Think about how you typically spend that time. Do you use it to focus on tasks that bring you closer to achieving your goals and dreams? Do you find ways to avoid responsibilities by watching television or playing video games for hours on end? Do you build in time for introspection including meditation? At the end of the day, whatever you chose to do cannot be undone. You cannot reset the clock and start the day over. What can you consciously do to make the most of your day? Only you have the answer to that question. I find that the best way to be productive is to think about a task and break it down into its manageable components. The area behind my desk looked like a cycle had hit it, and I was feeling overwhelmed in how to organize it. I started by taking all the books sitting on the floor and arranging them on top of my bookshelf. The next step was to organize all my file folders. Eventually I had achieved my goal and felt proud of what I had accomplished. Just keep it simple. What can you begin to do today to make the best use of the 24 hours you have?
