Seeing things as you are
How you see things isn't necessarily the way they are, but more the way you are experiencing life at the moment. What may usually appear to have little or no consequence to you at one point, could appear major to you at another. For example, you learn that you have to replace all four tires on your car. Since you are earning a good income, the cost of the tires is irrelevant. The next time you need to replace the tires, you are unemployed. Now this is seen as a expenditure that eats into what little money you have saved. The situation is exactly the same: the need to replace four tires. It is the circumstances surrounding it that affect how you see it. This is the case for so many things that happen in our lives. Is there a simple solution to this? Ideally it would be to never find yourself in a place of need. But needs are what drive us forward in life. Asking for what we need is the first step. Then remain open to having your needs met without controlling how that will occur. That is what believing that you are given what you need at any given moment is about and remaining in a receptive mode for that to happen. Now release it and know that the mechanism for your needs being met is being put into motion. This will allow you to see life's tribulations as opportunities to reach out for the resources that are available to you. Think back to how this worked out for you in the past. How are you seeing things today that are more a function of your state of mind than what is in front of you?
