Service with a smile

Have you ever been in the presence of a sales associate who has listened to your needs, gone out of his or her way to help you find what you were looking for, and did it all with a big smile? How did you feel as you completed that sale? Would you not only return to that store, but tell all of your friends to shop there? Would you make sure that they asked for the sales associate who provided service with a smile? Each day we find ourselves in situations where we can do this very thing. We can look for someone in need whether it be someone familiar to us or a total stranger. We can determine what it is that is needed and deliver that with a smile. It doesn't have to be anything major. It can involve holding a door open for someone, offering to help a stranger carry packages, or offering an elderly neighbor to help clean their kitchen or pick up some groceries. When we add a smile to the event, we make a human connection that lifts everyone's spirits. It doesn't cost a cent and yet it is priceless in its results.
