Thanks for sharing
As we travel through life we are aware of the suggestions and advice that people around us provide. They most likely come from a place of caring on the part of the provider. They are meant to protect us from the pain that the world can inflict on the uninformed. They are peppered with "shoulds," "oughts," and "have tos." For many of us, they create or reinforce fears and doubts. "You have to watch out for people like that." "You should spend your money on necessities and not throw it away on something frivolous like a vacation." "You ought to accept any job that comes your way." The provider of these messages is simply telling you their story based on how they see the world. It only becomes your story if you adopt it as the truth. You can choose to see it for what it is and thank the person for sharing. End of story. What have you heard lately that merits a "thanks for sharing" response?
