The blink of an eye

While watching a documentary recently on the history of our universe, its existence was compressed into a fourteen year period. On that timeline the presence of humans on the planet covered six seconds. Our own presence in this physical form is less than the blink of an eye. Yet it is no less significant than any other event before or beyond it. Our time spent here alters everything that occurs in the present and in the future. Think of how powerful you are in your ability to do so. Each action you take in the short time you are here leaves an impression that may not be truly realized for years to come. This is why it is important for you to carefully choose your thoughts and behaviors. Be mindful of the difference you can make in the world. Your grandchild who you may never meet develops the cure for cancer or writes a masterpiece of literature. The kind words you say to another can turn a life around in ways that you cannot even imagine.
