The end of the rainbow

As children we learned the story of the proverbial pot of gold that lies at the end of the rainbow. When you think of what would be involved in the quest for this gold, you can see how it can be a metaphor for life. Because a rainbow is formed by the sun's rays being bent by countless numbers of water droplets, it can only exist as long as those conditions are met. Like life, it is limited in its presence here. When it rains, our hope is that a rainbow will appear so that we can appreciate its beauty. Our lives also contain that hope that something wonderful and beautiful will appear at the end of our days. As the resting place for the end of the rainbow is ever changing, so too is the direction that our life takes. What is contained in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is different for each of us. The pot contains the manifestations of our hopes and dreams. Each day we awaken to the possibility that we will find our pot of gold and celebrate its discovery. Think about your search and what you believe will be inside the pot you find.
