The right to be wrong

Date:
October 20, 2024

You may have been brought up to believe that you must always be right. This supports a justification for blame. You can always find another person or circumstance that explains why you were not responsible for your actions. You may or may not adjust your behavior based on the results of your choices. At least you think that you have relieved your conscience. Remember that you do have the right to be wrong. We all miss the mark at one time or another. None of us is perfect. When you do make a mistake, take time to acknowledge your part and make amends if needed. Think of the damage that occurs when you blame and the amount of time it takes to repair it. It some cases it goes beyond repair. Of course there may be times when sharing your wrong may serve to do more damage than good, such as admitting that you had an affair to the other person's partner affecting an entire family in a negative way. You must decide what the cost will be. If it becomes too great, then look at how you contributed to the problem and what you can act differently in the future to do what is beneficial to all. It is all about you taking responsibility for you. How are you dealing with a wrong today?
