Do not disturb
While we are biologically programmed as social creatures, it is just as important that we take time out from our busy schedules for quiet. This is an opportunity to renew our energy levels and tap into our creativity. Set aside at least 20 minutes each day to be with yourself. You may decide to use this time to meditate, journal, indulge in a relaxing bath, or go for a walk. Whatever you choose to do, focus on the here and now. Savor the moment. Follow the musings of the mind as you become aware of the gifts that they bring. If you are engaged in a an activity within a physical environment, connect with the senses and what it is like to see, smell, and hear around you. If it is more of a mental activity, use it as a time to clear away the mind chatter and simply be rather than do. When you arrive on the other side of such quietude, you will find yourself receptive to solutions that may have eluded you during your busyness. What will you choose to do when you hang out your "Do not disturb" sign?
