Look before you leap

Have you ever made a decision that you later regretted? The regret was most likely based on the results you experienced. Perhaps you made a business investment that you thought was solid until it went south. You asked yourself, “What happened?’ It may be that the results were beyond your control. In other cases it might have had a different outcome if you had researched the choice you were about to make prior to making it. I humorously once shared that I should probably write a book with the title; The Book of Bad Choices. What each of those choices taught me was the importance of giving careful thought to my decision and using my resources to support it. I most likely would have tens of thousands of dollars in my pocket that are now sitting in someone else’s pocket. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t a good choice. Some of the choices that I have passed on were sound, It comes down to accepting that with experience, whether positive or negative, comes wisdom. Look back at choices you have made and ask yourself what you learned from them and what you might do differently in the future based on what you learned. What decision have you made that would have benefitted from looking before you leapt?
