Love

We may ask ourselves, "What am I doing here?" or "What is my purpose for being on this planet?" Our response may be based on what we are to do with the unique talents and skills we were given. That is certainly true for the most part. But ultimately I think we are here for only one reason: to express and receive love. When we look around us, the messages about love are everywhere. The messages are in our music, our literature, and our art. Most importantly they are seen every day of our lives in the actions of ourselves and the people around us. That love can be demonstrated through caring, giving selflessly, parenting, and being of service to others. The act of loving has been passed from generation to generation. Many of our fears are based on being disconnected from that love since it is such a strong need within us. Our responsibility is to look for ways to love others. In doing so we will be open to receive love in return. Love is what powers the Universe. It is the ultimate model for what love can be. It gives unconditionally and fully of itself. It provides the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink for us to survive and thrive. It asks nothing in return other than to pay it forward. Think about your life today and where you see love in your life. Then ask yourself how you can give more of that love. What can you do today to express and receive the love that is so ready to enter your life?
