Nothing in return

What would life be like if each of us gave freely of ourselves without expecting something in return? This is the way the Universe operates. It functions in a completely selfless manner. Its nature is to give out of love with whatever we are focused on today. There is no disappointment or anger when we do not behave in a way that the Universe has judged to earn us its love. This is part of our free will. What we desire is there for the asking. As humans we often attach expectations to our deeds. If we do something for someone we supposedly care for with the expectation that he or she will return the favor, then we are practicing conditional love. Spend a day in giving for the sake of giving. Listen to what your ego tells you as you do this. How does that feel for you? Hold your plan for doing this at the conscious level and note the changes that take place for you. What does that shift feel like?
