Stress relief

October 19, 2020

For many of us we have been living in the shadow of the pandemic for seven months now. Our lives have changed significantly as we don our masks, socially distance, and limit our travels. Our world has shrunk to the four walls of our homes and sometimes our work places. We feel isolated, confined, and uncertain. Is it any wonder that we are feeling so stressed? It shows up as irritability and short-temperedness towards those around us. That is a natural reaction to the situation. Think about what you can control to reduce that stress. Take a walk. Identify a location you have always wanted to visit and go on a virtual vacation there on your computer. Call a friend. Read a book that has been sitting on your nightstand for the past year. Watch your favorite movie multiple times. Do a jigsaw puzzle. Schedule an online happy hour. Cook a special dinner for you and your family and serve it on your best china. Listen to your favorite music while doing household chores. Take a nap. The list is endless. Now watch what happens to your stress levels. What are you doing to manage the stress in your life today?
