That will never happen

One way in which we limit our own future is by telling ourselves that what we hope for will never happen. Our self-talk consists of statements such as, “I don’t deserve it” or “That’s too far fetched to ever show up for me” or “It’s too late (or I’m too old) to live my dreams.” In making such statements we create a barrier to endless possibility. When I look back at how my life began in Pittsburgh, it did not seem likely that I would have the life I live today. When I attended my 50-year high school reunion a number of years ago, there were classmates who still lived in the same town and had the same high school friends. That could be a testament to having stability and longevity and, if that what brought happiness to them, who am I to say differently. I did wonder if their world was structured on living life in a place of familiarity. For me, I had to think beyond the town where we grew up to all the possibilities that life had to offer. This led me to experiences beyond my imagination. I believed that what I dreamed could become a reality and many times it did. Dare to dream BIG. If you believe it will never happen, it most likely won’t. I haven’t stopped living in possibility, nor do I plan to change that. The joy in life is watching possibilities unfold in ways that I had never thought could be. I had to release the “how” and know that it would eventually manifest. And in so many ways, that has been my life. What do you believe would never happen and what is keeping you from making it so?
