The search

What is it that you seek in life? It may be financial freedom, the perfect relationship, or public recognition. Or perhaps you seek a consistent flow of happiness. A search implies that there is something outside of you to be found. Once you have found it, the quest is over and you are fulfilled. What most people don't realize is that there is a quality within humans that soon covers over that achievement leaving a longing for a new source of fulfillment. The search becomes endless while perhaps sacrificing the treasures of the present. You become so enthralled in the search for what you think you need in your life that you miss all that you have been given today. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't have dreams and goals. They are meant to help us grow. It is when you focus more on the destination than the journey that you may be missing messages that perhaps what you are seeking may no longer serve you. I can think of a number of goals I had set when I was younger that were important at the time. As time passed they no longer held the same significance based on new beliefs. Look at what you are searching for and ask yourself what your life will be like when it is present. Then look at what occurred with former goals that you achieved and the level of fulfillment and joy you experience today once this happened. What might you be missing along the way when the focus is only what you believe awaits you?
