There's no place like home

A house is a structure that provides shelter from the elements. A home is defined by the energy within it. Think back to the house that you were raised in. How did members of the family relate to one another? Was it a home filled with love and support or one filled with anger and isolation? What was it like growing up in your childhood home? How were family members acknowledged for their contributions to the day-to-day functioning of the home? Was it through words of appreciation or dead silence? What was the effect of all of this as you matured? As you entered the time in your life when you established your own residence, think of the decisions you made, whether conscious or unconscious, as to what that home would be like. Would you recreate the home of your upbringing or make significant changes? What new energy would you bring within its walls? Would it be a home that welcomed visitors or warned them away? The good news is that you are not destined to repeat a past that didn’t work for you. Create a space that is unique to you and how you see yourself in the world. What would that space called home look like for you?
