Your behavioral rummage sale
Imagine your behaviors hanging in a closet. Each day you look through your behaviors and decide which ones will fit you for the occasion. Today you choose to wear your friendly behavior, but decide to switch to your complaining behavior when things don't go as you planned. You notice that some behaviors haven't been worn much at all, while others are almost threadbare from overuse. Is it time for you to hold a rummage sale to dispose of those unwanted behaviors? Which of your behaviors no longer serve you on a consistent basis? Is it stubbornness, walking around with a chip on your shoulder, or playing the victim? If you were looking for a new behavior to replace it, would it be flexibility, a cheerful disposition, or empowerment? When you hold your rummage sale, be willing to let go of the need to control what will result. Send your unwanted behaviors out into the Universe to have it do with them as it sees fit. Then be prepared to try on some new behaviors to show off to those around you. What behaviors would you include in your rummage sale if you were to hold it today?
